Background

Pursuant to Assembly Bill (AB) x1 26, the redevelopment dissolution bill, the County of Riverside Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 2012-035 on January 10, 2012, which designated the Housing Authority of the County of Riverside as housing successor to the Former Redevelopment Agency.

On June 4, 2013 (item 10-1) the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the County of Riverside approved and authorized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Housing Authority of the County of Riverside and the City of Coachella. The MOU establishes the transfer of housing assets and functions of the Former Coachella Redevelopment Agency under a reservation of rights to the Housing Authority.
